Harris Family History....
My Dad RIL (Ulysses Harris Jr.) (1940-2016) Inspired me originally starting the Cajun BBQ Mobile Business, he called the Original one "The Little Hut", Unfortunately he quickly had to sell his Mobile Unit to take care of his growing family at the time. My Dad's Love for food I observe as a kid turned into my Passion growing up along with my Master Cook and Baker Stepmother who later join with Dad some years later after my Mother passing of Breast Cancer, We're Blessed to just carry the torch of loving how to cook from him with the Food and People First Business Second.
As a Small town Southern cook starting a Business bringing everyday Good Food to you personally was always a passion of mine. I Started off working at a Fast Food Establishment actually with the Owner also fellow Cook, Mastering the Art of Frying which is what we mainly done, showing Leadership and begun to advance through the Love into Restaurants and Hotels. I started learning/being instructed from my Father head of a family of 13 at the age of maybe 9 years old, ..Rasing our own Farm animals and by being dedicated to hard work and their upkeep, picking up the Art of Butchery with our own Raised Meats as well as Curing big cuts of Meat. I soon Gradually worked my way up to Pursuing my Dream of Becoming a Certified Chef, learning from different Chefs from all backgrounds of the World on the way.
As a now Professional Chef, I still love working on a personal level interacting and explaining what I'm preparing right in front of the Foodies of the World. I'm still learning different Cuisines which I so loved tasting while working with great cultural diversed Chefs while putting my twist with a Menu that brings new flavor, meaning mixing different Spices, Seasonings, even Fresh Herbs together from different Cuisines that's not Traditional to American Dishes to explore a different Multicultural taste.
I took up the Mobile side of the business from my Dad to promote it to the public..plus the style in which we cook with Oak Wood for heat and Hickory flavor wood for taste while having to manage a fire. We operate a full country style custom made 18ft Commercial Kitchen Unit with a 7 foot 250 gallon Smoker/ with a 6 foot Wood burning rill on the porch side that serves our BBQ Pit Master's Menu and French Cajun Dishes. We also have a Mobile Brick Oven where our savory baked or roasted dishes are created, not to forget working the Delicious Gluten-Free Diversed Flatbread Menu. Everything you see on the Menu is done within the Mobile set up, "Definitely Something to See" in person.
We enjoy working Events, Dinner Parties, Reunions and whatever you plan in order to display my French Style of Cooking and Plating (Haute Cuisine) at a affordable price. Chef's Little Hut is designed with the future intent to have a Permanent Dining Location soon in Honor of our cooking Styles and Great Taste.
